The UPS Foundation, the charitable arm of UPS, recently awarded ToolBank USA a $125,000 grant to help expand the national ToolBank network into strategic disaster-prone markets. The grant will support ToolBank USA’s plan to address ToolBank’s readiness and mobility while continuing to provide the utmost in customer service. 
ToolBank USA is the national nonprofit network of ToolBanks, which lend high-quality tools to charitable organizations and their volunteers. ToolBanks in Atlanta, Baltimore, Charlotte and Cincinnati serve local nonprofits, schools and faith-based groups that are engaged in charitable activities by making an abundant supply of tools available at nominal cost. A mature ToolBank inventory contains about 150 different tool types ranging from rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, ladders, drills, saws and more, with a total value in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
“UPS and The UPS Foundation have been key investors in the national ToolBank movement since our inception,” said Mark Brodbeck, CEO of ToolBa nk USA. “This investment will specifically allow us to develop and implement a plan to position ToolBanks as an integral component of the nation’s disaster preparedness and response network.” Booz Allen Hamilton is advising ToolBank USA on the organization’s disaster planning.
