 Program Mission: Minimize

"The Tool Lending Library provides a community-driven inventory of tools to member agencies to increase the impact of their mission-related efforts."

 Tool Lending Library: Main Minimize

The Tool Lending Library makes $500,000 worth of tools available for community projects, TLL_Web1.JPGand is a benefit of membership at the ToolBank.  Whether you are renovating/maintaining a park, painting a mural, building a playground or organizing a community clean-up, the ToolBank can equip your volunteers for a successful project.  Click here to see the vast array of tools in the ToolBank’s inventory.

The purpose of the Tool Lending Library is double-sided:

1)To provide tools for use in community service projects.  The borrowing of ToolBank equipment allows nonprofits to avoid the prohibitive cost of buying or renting expensive tools, and increases the overall impact of their project through easy access to ample and appropriate equipment.

2) To house, repair and proactively maintain tools between service projects.  Space and stewardship of durable resources can be sticky issues at the typical nonprofit and the Tool Lending Library addresses both by serving as a repository for equipment, ensuring its good condition and availability when needed.

Both purposes afford nonprofit agencies more resources to make greater achievements toward their mission.

TLL_Web4.JPGIn 2005, the Tool Lending Library equipped 53,214 volunteers in 830 service projects in every corner of metro Atlanta.  And whether you’re building a park bench or an entire playground, the ToolBank has the equipment to help make it a success!  Click here to see the more than 140 types of tools on the Tool Request Form.

There are handling fees associated with borrowing tools from the Tool Lending Library.  These fees help the ToolBank defray administrative and program costs and foster a sense of investment into the ToolBank by collaborating agencies.  For more information on handling fees, please visit the Frequently Asked Questions page.

ToolBank member agencies enjoy informal project consultation as an additional benefit to TLL_Web2.jpgmembership.  ToolBank staff is on hand to answer questions regarding the planning/management of your project.  Members are encouraged to call the Member Agency Hotline at (404) 880-0054 x12 for project advice.

Visitation to the ToolBank is by appointment only.  We look forward to serving you and your local community!
